Any listing in this product directory or other related materials, where “NRTL” appears next to the product name was tested and is listed by ARL as an NRTL, consistent with the requirements of the NRTL Directive.  Other products are listed solely by ARL under its accreditation to ISO 17025 and ISO 17026.


The products listed here are small utilization appliances rated 600 volts or less or appliances employing a universal motor rated 250 volts or less.

Requirements for this category of products do not include equipment particularly for the control of electric motors; separate motors; nor electric clocks, fans, clothes dryers, washing machines, hair dryers, tools, waste disposers, dishwashers, office appliances and business equipment, refrigerators, air conditioners, vending and amusement machines, hair clippers and shavers, snow movers, or other motor operated appliances that are covered by individual requirements.

An appliance that utilizes some other source of energy, such as gas or steam, in addition to electric energy has been investigated under these requirements and under such additional requirements as applicable to the individual product.

Each product is marked with the name or trademark of the (manufacturer) or vendor, a distinctive type, style or model designation, date code, electrical ratings, electrical hazard warnings, and other markings as required for specific applications.

These products comply with ARL requirements which include pertinent sections of the Standards for Safety, ANSI/UL 73, Motor Operated Appliances, ANSI/UL 1004, Electric Motors, and are intended to be installed or employed in accordance with the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA 70.  In addition, if so designated on the Listing Mark, products have been investigated in accordance with CSA C22.2 No. 68, Motor Operated Appliances (Household and Commercial) and CSA C22.2 No. 88, Industrial Heating Equipment.

A product that contains features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems new or different from those covered by the requirements of the standard, and that involve a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, have been evaluated using the appropriate additional component and end-product requirements as determined necessary to maintain the acceptable level of safety as originally anticipated by the intent of the standard.  A product whose features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems conflict with specific provisions of the standard have been judged to be in non-compliance with the standard.

Only products which properly bear the ARL Listing Mark (Label) are considered Listed by ARL.


Delisted products appear with a double strike through and “DELISTED” after the report number.
