Any listing in this product directory or other related materials, where “NRTL” appears next to the product name was tested and is listed by ARL as an NRTL, consistent with the requirements of the NRTL Directive.  Other products are listed solely by ARL under its accreditation to ISO 17025 and ISO 17026.


The products listed here are elevator doors and elevator door frames of various materials and types of construction that are intended to retard the passage of fire through wall openings.

Listings for products entitled “Elevator Entrance Assembly” were established prior to the adoption of Rule 110.15 of the Safety Code Code for Elevators, Dumbwaiters, Escalators, and Moving Walks, ANSI/ASME A17.1a, 1985, and are carried here as a matter of historical record.

The term “Elevator Entrance Assembly” includes the door, frame or guide and necessary listed hardware.  The mounting and operating parts are especially designed for the door and are not interchangeable.

The term “Elevator Door” pertains to the door and does not include the frame, hardware or other accessories with which it is installed unless otherwise specified.  Authorities having jurisdiction should be consulted concerning the type, mounting, listed hardware, listed frame and listed closing mechanism acceptable for any given location.

These products are marked with the name or trademark of the (manufacturer) or vendor, fire rating and fire class.  Additionally, the product may also be marked with a distinctive type, style, catalog or model designation.

These products comply with ARL requirements which include pertinent sections of ASTM E152, Standard Test Methods for Fire Tests of Door Assemblies and ANSI/ASME A17.1,Safety Code Code for Elevators, Dumbwaiters, Escalators, and Moving Walks.  They are intended for installation in accordance with the Standard for Fire Doors and Windows, ANSI/NFPA 80.

A product that contains features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems new or different from those covered by the requirements of the standard, and that involve a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, have been evaluated using the appropriate additional component and end-product requirements as determined necessary to maintain the acceptable level of safety as originally anticipated by the intent of the standard.  A product whose features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems conflict with specific provisions of the standard have been judged to be in non-compliance with the standard.

Only products which properly bear the ARL Listing Mark (Label) are considered Listed by ARL
