Any listing in this product directory or other related materials, where “NRTL” appears next to the product name was tested by ARL as a NRTL.  The NRTL status for these listed products was valid through January 27th, 2008 unless previously delisted.  These products may remain listed solely by ARL. However, they are no longer under the surveillance of the NRTL program.


The products listed here are waste heat recovery units and similar air conditioning and refrigeration accessories intended for the transfer of waste heat from an air conditioner or heat pump to another medium such as water.

The equipment is marked with the name or trademark of the (manufacturer) or vendor, a distinctive type, style, model or catalog designation, date code, electrical ratings, electrical hazard warnings, wiring diagram, type of refrigerant employed, factory test pressures and, if applicable, marked “Suitable For Outdoor Use.”

These products comply with ARL requirements which include pertinent sections of the Standards for Safety, ANSI/UL 207, Refrigerant Containing Components, Nonelectrical; ANSI/UL 303, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Condensing and Compressor Units; and ANSI/UL 559, Heat Pumps, and are intended for installation in accordance with the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70.  Products shown in this category were listed prior to the adoption of ANSI/UL 1995, Heating and Cooling Equipment.

A product that contains features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems new or different from those covered by the requirements of the standard, and that involve a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, have been evaluated using the appropriate additional component and end-product requirements as determined necessary to maintain the acceptable level of safety as originally anticipated by the intent of the standard.  A product whose features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems conflict with specific provisions of the standard have been judged to be in non-compliance with the standard.

Only products which properly bear the ARL Listing Mark (Label) are considered Listed by ARL.
