Any listing in this product directory or other related materials, where “NRTL” appears next to the product name was tested by ARL as a NRTL.  The NRTL status for these listed products was valid through January 27th, 2008 unless previously delisted.  These products may remain listed solely by ARL. However, they are no longer under the surveillance of the NRTL program.


These products listed here are elevator appliances such as Hoistway Door Interlocks, Hoistway Door Combination Mechanical Lock and Electrical Contacts, or Hoistway Door and Car Door or Gate Electrical Contacts and are rated 600 volts or less.

Each product is marked with the name or trademark of the (manufacturer) or vendor, a distinctive style, type, catalog or model designation, and the manufacturing date code.  When applicable, products may also be marked with a wiring diagram, electrical hazard warnings, and electrical ratings expressed in voltage, current, and frequency.

These products comply with ARL requirements which include pertinent sections of the Standard for Safety, ANSI/UL 104, Elevator Door Locking Devices and Contacts; and/or ANSI/ASME A17.5, Safety Code for Elevator and Escalator Electrical Equipment. The products are intended for installation and operating in accordance with ANSI/ASME A17.1, Safety Code for Elevators, Dumbwaiters, Escalators, and Moving Walks.

A product that contains features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems new or different from those covered by the requirements of the standard, and that involve a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, have been evaluated using the appropriate additional component and end-product requirements as determined necessary to maintain the acceptable level of safety as originally anticipated by the intent of the standard.  A product whose features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems conflict with specific provisions of the standard have been judged to be in non-compliance with the standard.

Only products which properly bear the ARL Listing Mark (Label) are considered Listed by ARL.
